Human resource is different from other resources like land and physical capital in the following ways:
Active vs. Passive Resource: Human resource is an "active" resource, whereas land and physical capital are "passive" resources. Land and capital cannot become useful on their own.
Essentiality: Human resource can make use of land and capital. Without human intervention, land and capital would remain useless.
Investment and Returns: Investment in human resource (through education and health) can yield high returns in the future in the form of higher income and productivity. While land and capital also provide returns, they are limited by the quality of human management.
Superiority: Human resource is considered superior to other resources because it has the ability to transform raw materials and physical capital into useful goods and services through skill and knowledge.
Adaptability: Humans can learn, adapt, and improve over time, whereas physical resources like machinery or land remain static in their nature.
