What does the swallow see when it flies over the city? - Moments Supplementary Reader

Question

What does the swallow see when it flies over the city?

Answer

When the swallow flies over the city, he sees the sharp contrast between the rich and the poor. He sees the rich making merry in their beautiful houses, while the beggars are sitting at the gates.

He also sees the white faces of starving children looking out listlessly at the dark streets. Under the archway of a bridge, he sees two little boys lying in each other's arms to try and keep themselves warm, who are then driven out into the rain by a watchman.
