(i) Rivers
Ganga: Starts in Uttarakhand, flows through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal before entering the Bay of Bengal.
Satluj: Enters India from Tibet, flows through Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
Damodar: Flows through Jharkhand and West Bengal (known as the 'Sorrow of Bengal').
Krishna: Originates near Mahabaleshwar (Maharashtra) and flows east through Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh into the Bay of Bengal.
Narmada: Flows west through Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, staying north of the Satpura range, into the Arabian Sea.
Tapi: Flows west, south of the Satpura range, through Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat into the Arabian Sea.
Mahanadi: Flows through Chhattisgarh and Odisha into the Bay of Bengal.
Brahmaputra: Enters India through Arunachal Pradesh (as Dihang), flows through Assam, and enters Bangladesh.
(ii) Lakes
Chilika: Located on the eastern coast in Odisha.
Sambhar: Located in central Rajasthan (near Jaipur).
Wular: Located in Jammu & Kashmir (north of Srinagar).
Pulicat: Located on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu (East coast).
Kolleru: Located in Andhra Pradesh (between the Krishna and Godavari deltas).
