Yes, one of my schoolmates faced a similar situation when his house was badly damaged due to a short circuit fire. He lost his books, school uniform, and many personal belongings.
When the news reached our school, the teachers and students immediately came together to help him. We organized a collection drive where everyone contributed according to their capacity. Some students provided him with sets of textbooks and notebooks, while others bought him new stationery and a school bag. The school management also provided him with a new set of uniforms. This collective effort and the emotional support from friends helped him overcome his trauma and made him feel welcome and secure, just like the narrator in the story.
